West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and Weiss Memorial Hospital in Uptown served Chicago’s West Side and North Side for more than a century between them. Both closed under their last owners, Weiss in 2025 and West Suburban in March 2026. In September a Cook County court settlement put Insight in charge of both.
Your gift goes to the Insight Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity, and is designated for West Suburban and Weiss. It supports patient care and community health services as the hospitals reopen: equipment and supplies, licensing and certification costs, and the clinical staff who have to be in place before the first patient walks in.
The Insight Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 27-1658980. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law; no goods or services are provided in exchange for your gift.
Gifts to the Foundation do not purchase shares or any interest in any company.
Designated gifts are used for the stated purpose; if that purpose becomes impossible, the Foundation applies the gift to its closest related charitable work.
